Ammonite fossils will be found most often just laying on the ground after poor weather where the rough tide has uncovered new sediment on the ground. When looking for these fossils avoid chipping away at large rocks as it is very rare that ammonites will be found in these rocks. You will also want to avoid looking near the loose cliffs as debree is constantly falling off them.
